Lauren is our very first Customer Spotlight honoree! Way to drop the hammer on the insurance industry, Lauren!
How long have you been with your firm and what’s your role there?
I have been with Pyron Group for a year and a half, I am an agent and our head of commercial business development – new business submissions.
If you have a niche market that you’re involved with, how did you get started in that niche?
We actually do not have a niche. We work with clients across a broad spectrum of industries. If we haven’t already worked with a particular industry in our three decades of doing business, we always love the opportunity to broaden our horizons, so-to-speak. One of our agents in particular has a love of finding and placing unusual risks.
What is the favorite part about working in the insurance industry?
So far, not having a ‘niche’ has given me the chance to learn more about all types of businesses from breweries to farms to salons. It’s been really cool to gain an understanding of how different businesses work, but also to meet the people that run those businesses. Forming these little relationships has been great both professionally and personally.
What is your proudest moment in serving a client?
There may not be a singular moment. We work with mostly locally owned businesses. The ability to provide the correct coverage and the right price while also giving the client a face in their community instead of an 800 number has been rewarding.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe what you do?
Protection, Development, Sweat
How would you describe your productivity before and after using eForms Wizard?
eForms Wizard has been AWESOME. Time = Money and so far it has saved me tremendous amounts of time by making submissions faster. I have recently started submitting for 12+ agents and time matters. I don’t think I could successfully work at that volume without AVYST.
What is something most people don’t know about you – maybe a unique hobby or interest?
I studied art and love art history. I can lay tile like a champ.
What does an ideal weekend look like?
Relaxing outside when it’s not 104 degrees. A rare occurrence in the Mississippi summer.
Who’s your favorite Super Hero, and why?
Thor. Because he is Chris Hemsworth, duh.
What is your personal theme song?
That’s obvious. Modern classic Billboard Hot 100 number one pop hit from 1983, Flashdance… What a Feeling by Irene Cara.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Egypt. I traveled the country extensively. The topography and the people are incredible! It is the most memorable place ever. The age of the structures is really difficult to wrap your head around.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning a bathroom!
