Let’s get to know Mike DeStasio of AssuredPartners Cranford, NJ location!

How long have you been with your firm and what’s your role there?
I have been with Assured Partners since 1985. I am the Vice President and manage our Transportation Insurance segment.

What niche market are you involved with?
I have been involved in the Truck Insurance market since 1987.

What is the favorite part about working in the insurance industry?
There are many favorite parts but I think my most favorite is when you can solve the problem of a prospect or insured and they appreciate your effort.

What is your proudest moment in serving a client?
My proudest moment is when we had an insured and their fleet was devastated during Superstorm Sandy. We worked out a fair settlement to keep them in business.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe what you do?
Challenging, Satisfying, Friendships.

How would you describe your productivity before and after using eForms Wizard?
eForms Wizard and AVYST helped customize a software solution for our unique niche. We went from a system that had very little capability to eForms Wizard. We are learning new things about the product regularly. It has greatly increased our production and I believe will speed us up even more as we get familiar with the additional capabilities of the system.

What is something most people don’t know about you – maybe a unique hobby or interest?
I am a certified Level II Ski Instructor.

What does an ideal weekend look like?
Golf in the AM. Sitting on the deck with a mountain view, a bourbon and a cigar followed by a BBQ.

Who’s your favorite Super Hero, and why?
Don Corleone. He was able to make people offers they couldn’t refuse.

What is your personal theme song?
Theme from Rocky.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Austria. Best skiing and views.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning the bathrooms.
